THE SECOND LIFE OF WAFAA

Wafaa, a young girl who fled the war in Iraq to Germany with her family, dreams of becoming a professional footballer. Football is Wafaa’s true passion and her way of coping with a difficult reality, where she tries to simultaneously loosen the grip of dogma of a closed Yazidi community and preserve her cultural identity.

FIFTEEN - National Canadian Film Day feature

As the only sanctioned event to determine the record-holder for most ascents of the Grouse Grind in a one-day period, participants gather annually on the summer solstice for The Multi-Grouse Grind Challenge, testing their mental and physical limits over a 19-hour period. FIFTEEN tells the inspiring story of one of those participants, Jenn Golinski, as she takes on the challenge with the help of her support crew.
